Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is an African-led, Africa-focused international non-governmental organization that works with communities in Africa, particularly women, children, and youth, to sustainably improve their quality of life.
AAH-I works as a facilitator with the most marginalized communities in Africa (Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, Zambia, Djibouti, and Ethiopia), supporting their self-reliance efforts so that they can empower themselves to become resilient and ensure that no one is left behind.

Our Pillars:
We use long-term sustainable approaches in the development and protracted humanitarian situations and short-term approaches during acute humanitarian crises. We tackle the root causes of factors that contribute to late enrolment by boys and girls, poor learning outcomes and dropping out of school. We endeavour to achieve these by pursuing the following result areas:Children have access to quality pre-primary and primary education,Increase access to alternative basic education and accelerated learning programs,Improve youth vocational and life skills.
We focus on building capacities to prevent and prepare for emergencies and strengthening primary health care at the community level which will reduce the vulnerabilities of the community, particularly women, children and youth. AAH-I works to:Improve access and utilization of essential maternal and child health and adolescent and youth sexual reproductive health services,
Ensure that communities are protected from infectious and communicable diseases,
Improve access to safe water, adequate sanitation and hygiene.
Reducing poverty is critical while addressing food insecurity. Poor people spend a large share of their income on food, leaving them vulnerable to high food prices, and many poor people obtain much of their income from farming, leaving them vulnerable to declines in agricultural output.
AAH-I works with communities to:
Increase household food availability,
Improve household nutrition,
Enhance the security of income in households,
Improve climate change mitigation and adaptation.
AAH-I has prioritized a holistic approach to disaster risk reduction and management by focusing on the following key areas to:
Strengthen community capacity to mitigate, manage and respond to disasters,
Establish supply chain services for humanitarian operations,
Improve humanitarian protection and account ability.
To improve organizational effectiveness, AAH-I will focus on key success factors categorized in three perspectives:
Focus on growing and diversifying funding in restricted and unrestricted revenue,
Strengthen our leadership and governance structures, nurture a culture of innovation, integrate technology for development and protect the organization,
Develop a competitive Total Reward system and promote learning and staff development.
